Zanzibar offers more than idyllic beaches - it’s a place steeped in centuries of trade, storytelling, and Swahili tradition.
Just off the coast of mainland Tanzania, this Indian Ocean archipelago is a sensory experience: the scent of cloves in the air, the sound of call to prayer echoing through winding alleyways, and turquoise waters lapping white-sand shores. From the spice plantations to the coral reefs, Zanzibar is where history, culture, and barefoot luxury meet.
From Adele
On Zanzibar
It’s a sensory experience walking through the historic town of Stone Town. The smell of freshly brewed coffee mixes with warm spices. Colorful fabrics beckon you inside shop doorways leading off a maze of old cobbled pathways. We enter through a set of ornately studded wooden Arabic doors into an old sultan’s palace now turned into a magical dining venue. A balmy breeze blows, while I sip a cocktail and gaze over the rooftops towards the setting sun listening to the haunting melody of a woman singing the stories of times gone by.
