4. Bookings and Payments
All bookings made through Retreat to Africa are subject to availability and confirmation. By submitting an enquiry or booking, you agree that:
- Prices are quoted in the specified currency and may be subject to change due to exchange rates or supplier adjustments.
- A deposit or full payment may be required to confirm your booking. We accept payment by electronic bank transfer (EFT) or Mastercard/Visa. If you are paying by credit card, a 3% extra charge will be added to the total cost.
- Specific terms, cancellation policies, and refund rules will apply to each journey or itinerary and will be communicated before payment.
Any international refunds will be processed in the ZAR amount received irrespective of the exchange rate at the time of refund. An admin fee of 5% plus any transaction fees will apply.
Retreat to Africa acts as a curator and facilitator, working with trusted third-party providers (lodges, guides, transport, etc.). Each provider operates under its own terms and conditions.
Insurance
It is compulsory to take out medical insurance including repatriation insurance when traveling in or to Africa. You will need to provide us with your policy and emergency contact prior to departure.
Although not mandatory, we highly recommend taking out cancellation insurance covering flights, luggage, and other travel-related risks upon confirmation of your booking in case you need to cancel your trip.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this Website—including text, images, graphics, design, logos, and layout—is the intellectual property of Retreat to Africa or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Website without our written permission.
6. Third-Party Links

You agree that your use of the Website and participation in any Retreat to Africa journey is at your own discretion and risk.
(2) Retreat to Africa, our representatives, employees and agents take no responsibility for any costs or losses incurred by the guest or their companions concerning cancellation or curtailment, emergency evacuation expenses, medical or repatriation expenses, or damage/theft/loss of personal belongings. Guests will be charged directly by relevant service providers for emergency services and may be unable to access such services without adequate insurance.
(3) Retreat to Africa assumes no liability whatsoever for injury, damage, loss, accident, or delay to person or property.
9. Termination of Access
Retreat to Africa reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Website, at any time and without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is deemed harmful to the company’s integrity or users.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be handled through good faith negotiations or mediation before formal proceedings are initiated.
